Here at musishen.com, you can listen to short samples from all of SHEN's 4 albums. Just click on an album cover and then pick a track in the audio player. Don't forget, each album has at least 8 tracks.
Furthermore, you can download (for free) the first 3 albums in their entirety, or if you prefer to play an actual cd, Baaz ham meegooyeem aareh can now be purchased directly from Cdbaby & other affiliated sites. While for the time being, Naamareehaa will only be available "for-sale only" (individual tracks and full album digital downloads) on cdbaby as well.
Naamareehaa is an album about the "disenfranchised", that class or segment of society
that has lost its' "voice", be it politically, economically or otherwise. It's also a
celebration of music -itself- as a potential "agent for change".
While "Baaz ham meegoyeem aareh" could be viewed as a collection of individual songs, it's also a "concept "album with its' central theme of "unpermitted" love plays itself out in more or less chronological fashion over the span of the album's 8 songs, or "acts":
ACT I (We will always say yes-Baaz ham meegoyeem aareh ): An open act of defiance: "yes" to love, no matter what the consequences.
ACT II (Come tonight-Emshaab Biaa): One possible manifestation of Act I: a night of "passion". Which could mean different things to different people.
ACT III (A cold pistol-Haftir sard): Emboldened by love, our protagonists take their plight to the streets. Enough talk already.
ACT IV (The world sits idly by-Donyaa saaket nesasteh): Unfortunately, with most such public displays of discontentment, you may very well end up in prison. Or if not literally, then it'll just feel that way..
ACT V (The sun will still shine tomorrow-Khorsheedee ham hast): The philosophical musings of our "hero" in trying to make sense of his world and all its' injustices.
ACT VI (Just like a child-Mesleh yek koodak): Still, one can't help but marvel at all the beauty -and love- that surrounds us. In spite of it all.
ACT VII (More than this no more-Beeshtar az in faraamoosh): The inevitable toll a "controlled" existence takes on the lives of our protagonists.
ACT VIII (Lovers in hiding-Aasheghaa penhoonan): With the battle lost, our lovers go into hiding. For the time being….
if you're interested in automatically receiving our "latest".....
We're thinking of shooting a video for one of our songs. Have yet to decide which one but it'll most likely be from our most recent cd. Got any suggestions/ideas? Would love to hear them. Especially if you have experience in the field and are interested in working with us.
